This piece explores the labyrinthine medina of Fez, where intricate architecture rises and folds into itself, producing angular forms that push outward like a diamond or cube.
The surfaces are alive with cats, also in deep black and climbing, stretching and resting across the facades. Their silhouettes appear as guardians of the medina, silent but ever-present.
At the very centre lies a hidden glow, pigment created by mixing natural indigo bought in Fez with luminous powder. When the piece has been exposed to light, this core releases a faint, spectral blue indigo glow, as though the medina itself holds a secret pulse.
